Ingredients
8 oz (225 g) spaghetti or linguine
1 lb (450 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tbsp unsalted butter
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream
1/4 cup (60 ml) chicken broth
1/2 cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp red pepper flakes
Salt and black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped
Directions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Melt butter in the same skillet over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in chicken broth and heavy cream. Simmer for 2 minutes, then whisk in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Toss cooked pasta into the skillet with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed.
- Add the shrimp back to the skillet and gently toss. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Pair with a crisp salad or garlic bread for a complete meal. Garnish with extra Parmesan for added flavor.
