Ingredients

  • 8 oz (225 g) spaghetti or linguine

  • 1 lb (450 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream

  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) chicken broth

  • 1/2 cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  • Melt butter in the same skillet over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Stir in chicken broth and heavy cream. Simmer for 2 minutes, then whisk in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  • Toss cooked pasta into the skillet with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed.
  • Add the shrimp back to the skillet and gently toss. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Pair with a crisp salad or garlic bread for a complete meal. Garnish with extra Parmesan for added flavor.
