Celebrate the American life style with this iconic, easy-to-make American special—crispy BBQ-glazed chicken wings paired with perfectly seasoned “freedom fries.” This dish is bold, flavorful, and ideal for gatherings. Enjoy the crunchy textures, smoky-sweet glaze, and seasoned fries that bring a patriotic twist to your table!

Ingredients

  • For the Chicken Wings
  • 2 lbs chicken wings, split and tips removed

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • ½ cup BBQ sauce (use honey BBQ for extra sweetness)

  • 1 tbsp butter, melted (for added richness)

  • For the Freedom Fries
  • 3 large russet potatoes, sliced into fries

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp paprika (adds smokiness)

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • ½ cup ranch dressing

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, toss wings with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Arrange wings in a single layer on one half of the baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, flip, and bake for another 20 minutes until crispy.
  • In a small bowl, mix BBQ sauce with melted butter. Brush the wings with the sauce mixture and bake for an additional 5–7 minutes until the sauce caramelizes.
  • In a bowl, toss fries with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Arrange in a single layer on the other half of the baking sheet or a separate one. Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  • Transfer wings and fries to a large serving plate. Garnish fries with chopped parsley and serve with ranch for dipping.

Notes

  • Serve hot with ranch dressing and an optional veggie platter. This patriotic platter pairs well with cold beverages and a side of coleslaw or corn on the cob!
